About This Project

Feature documentary EAT DRINK LAUGH is the first-ever film to explore the birth of the modern comedy club. The movie focuses on the comedy club where some of the greatest comedy acts as such as Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Adam Sandler — honed their craft. Starting out as the so-called red-headed stepchild of comedy club powerhouses The Improv and Catch A Rising Star, The Comic Strip emerged from that original New York City comedy club scene as a powerhouse in its own right, and 35 years later, it’s the only one still standing, in its original location, with its original owners.
